I’ve always been an athletic person. I played sports in high school. After a few years off (and more than a few pounds) in college, I decided I wanted to run a marathon. So, in 1996 I ran my first marathon. Since then I’ve done a total of 13 marathons including the Boston Marathon. Boston was a great experience. My two younger sisters came to support me and even surprised me by wearing t-shirts bearing my photo to the finish line.
After so many marathons, I guess my body needed a break. I decided it was time to take up swimming so I could start doing triathlons. I completed my first triathlon in 2008. Now, in 2011 I’m training to finish my first Ironman 70.3.
In addition to my athletic endeavors, I love to cook & bake. In fact, I do make perfect cookies (just ask me!) I rarely cook for just myself but love cooking for others. In addition to perfect cookies, I think I’ve finally perfected my recipe for homemade granola. I’ll have to ask my taste testers what they think.
Anything else you want to know about me you can find on this blog. I mostly write about me and the crazy things that happen in my life. It’s all true, you can’t make this stuff up!
